Viola, 16 & 1/2 inch

Modeled on classical Venetian design, a larger viola, full and rich in tone, wonderful sensitive bow response, suitable for performance level artist. The two piece, 1/4 cut, split wedge top is of finest old mountain spruce, with beautiful even narrow grain, and some charming distinctive markings. The one piece 1/4 cut back is of European maple, with delicate small curl, matching ribs, neck and scroll. The varnish is warm amber brown in color, evenly applied, and of a natural texture.
