Flat Iron Mandolin
From finest old tonewoods, made in the style of the 1920 Gibson Army-Navy Mandolin, also known as a Flat Iron Mandolin. One piece back with matching sides, from well flamed, beautifully figured Yellow Birch. Two piece top of bookmatched, 1/4 cut, Fine European Spruce. Carbon Fiber reinforced neck, from Flamed European Maple, with Yellow Birch peghead overlay, and shell inlays, with Schaller engraved tuners, Pearloid Buttons, and bone nut. 12 inch radius fingerboard of Ebony with Abalone fret/neck position markers, and compensated Ebony bridge. Hand applied shading and oil varnish.
String length = 13 and 7/8th in, or 353 mm.
Nut width = 1 and 1/8th in, or 29 mm.
String Space at Bridge = 1 and 7/16th in, or 37 mm.
